Clarity Dr. Checking in on Hyperbaric Patient while in the chamber

Your First Visit

On your first visit to Clarity, our primary goal is your safety. We will gather some pertinent health information, as well as your reason for seeking hyperbaric treatment. We will then perform a neurologic scan to determine how adaptable your body is at this time.

After scanning is complete, our doctors will assess you history, scan results, expectations for HBOT, potential risks, and confirm that you are a good candidate for HBOT at our office.

This first appointment takes approximately 30 minutes, but many of our patients remark that it is the most detailed exam they have received.

Once you have gone through the initial assessment and agreed to our doctors recommendations for treatment, you are ready to begin hyperbaric treatment. Hyperbaric treatment normally comes in blocks of 30-40 treatments for most chronic injuries or conditions that are over 6 months old. Diagnoses and conditions that are less than 6 months old can require less treatment.

Depending on the condition, our doctors my recommend some specialized imaging that can alter the course of care. You should expect to be under rigorous treatment for 2-3 months depending on your condition, and your bodies adaptability. Throughout treatment, the doctors will preform re-assessments to establish the change you’ve made, and alter treatment if necessary.

During those 2-3 months, our doctors recommend suspending all non critical treatments outside of corrective spinal care from a licensed neurologically based chiropractor. They do not recommend you stopping any medications, but they do like to isolate treatment to one variable, the hyperbaric oxygen treatment. If we can isolate hyperbaric treatments, we will be able to identify whether or not hyperbaric oxygen therapy is having the desired effects. Once you start to show a noticeable response to HBOT, our doctors will carefully re-introduce other treatment methods that can be synergistic with HBOT.

START OF TREATMENT

EXIT EVALUATION

At the end of treatment, you will have a final conversation with our doctors to discuss your progress with HBOT and talk about your next steps for healing. Options after your initial treatment are dependent on how well you do under care. With Traumatic Brain Injury, sometimes more treatment can be recommended based on the severity. Generally we recommend some form of a maintenance plan after your initial treatment, to maintain all the growthy you invested in.

90 MINUTE DIVE

This dive is reserved for those with a rather significant trauma or condition. Common conditions we treat at our Des Moines location with a 90 minute dive are moderate and severe brain injury, serious lung pathology, co treatment with an oncologist for an active cancer diagnosis and more. Often times modern medicine sells our bodies short, and tells us that we are not capable of fighting off certain illnesses or conditions. At Clarity Hyperbarics, we believe that given the right input, the body has an innate ability to self heal and correct many different conditions.

Throughout care, we will be communicating with your primary care physician as to the changes we are seeing. We may also require outside imaging in the case of brain injury or cancer. We would love to have the opportunity to help you achieve your miracle. Contact us today to begin the change in you or a loved ones health.
